BC Children’s and Women’s Hospital is a specialized healthcare campus located in Vancouver, British Columbia, operated by the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA). The campus includes two separate hospitals that serve the entire province: BC Children’s Hospital and BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre.

  • BC Children’s HospitalAs the province’s only hospital dedicated exclusively to children, BC Children’s Hospital provides expert and specialized care to critically ill or injured children, youth, and young adults.Specialized services: The hospital is a hub for specialized treatments, including pediatric surgical, diagnostic, and mental health services.

    Emergency care: Its emergency department provides care for children and youth up to 16 years of age.

    Rehabilitation: The campus also includes Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children, which offers specialized developmental assessment and rehabilitation services.

    Research: It works in partnership with the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute to conduct research aimed at improving children’s health.

  • BC Women’s Hospital + Health CentreThis is the only hospital in British Columbia dedicated primarily to the health of women, newborns, and families.Maternal and newborn care: It serves as the provincial leader for maternal and newborn care, especially for high-risk pregnancies.

    Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU): The hospital is home to the largest NICU in the province.

    Comprehensive women’s health: It provides a wide range of other women’s health services, including the Complex Menopause Clinic and the Reproductive Mental Health Program.

    Reproductive health services: BC Women’s also operates the Oak Tree Clinic for women and families with HIV/AIDS, and the Fir Square program, which supports pregnant women dealing with substance use.
